Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since March of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an improved service.

He recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
